I have learned to love swimming. Growing up when I was in the pool, I played in the water but I didn’t fully know how to swim. I started to take swimming lessons and aerobics and it shaped my whole experience of swimming. The water is great for my muscles and being in the water felt really good. Learning about all the different ways, movements, and the strokes weren’t easy but it took time to get use to them and learn how to use my body in the water. I do all kinds of exercises in the pool and have fun while doing it. I have so much more confidence now that I have been practicing for so long. Every milestone is an accomplishment but having fun is the most important goal!

I work with my trainer on strengthening my core and my muscles so I do exercises like jumping jacks, cross country skiing, crunches, heel raises, and I use a noodle to exercise. I practice going underwater, breathing, using weights in the water, and of course swimming!
